In 2013 I managed to finish a design project for paper sculptures based on the figure of the Bahianas and the Ipê (a traditional tree that decorates the streets of Belo Horizonte).

The “Baianas” series emerge from Afro-Brazilian images. They can be linked to the Carnival, worship hpuses, Afro-Brazilian places, several Orixás (Afro-Brazilian deities) and dreams.

Each piece of this series is created from improvisation on paper (there is no project, only an initial body). This makes each piece authentic and unreproducible.
